On our name
“SwayamDhan” (from Swayam, meaning “self,” and Dhan, meaning “wealth”) was chosen to reflect our self-directed, privacy-first design — you manage your own financial picture, with no advisor or middleman. SwayamDhan has no association, partnership, or endorsement, express or implied, with the Government of India’s SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds) initiative, or with any other government scheme, agency, or programme. Any resemblance in name is coincidental.
SwayamDhan is built for financial literacy and personal tracking. It is not SEBI-registered investment advice, and it is not intended to generate any financial benefit for its creators from your investment decisions — we don’t sell products, take commissions, or recommend specific funds.
Not a SEBI-registered adviser
I’m not a SEBI-registered investment adviser, research analyst, or chartered accountant, and neither is SwayamDhan. Everything this app shows you — Ask-the-Advisor answers, tax estimates, retirement and allocation projections, and every number in between — is for your own general knowledge only. It is not investment advice, tax advice, or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold anything. Please get it verified by your own qualified advisor — a SEBI-registered investment adviser or a chartered accountant — before taking any action based on it.
Ask-AI and tax output framing
Ask-the-Advisor is a large language model answering questions about your own data — it can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date, and it says so in its own disclaimer footer every time you use it. Tax figures are estimates based on rules as understood at the time they were coded (see the Tax page for exact rates and dates used); they are not a substitute for a CA’s calculation on your actual return.
Honest status: this specific framing — the exact wording of these disclaimers, and whether it goes far enough — has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer or a SEBI-registered adviser. That review is planned before a wide public launch. Until then, treat every number and every AI answer in this app as a starting point for your own research, not a conclusion.
Where this is hosted
SwayamDhan’s application servers and database are hosted in the Asia-Pacific region (Singapore), via Railway and Supabase respectively. There is no current legal requirement in India for personal financial data of this kind to stay on servers located within India — we’re disclosing our hosting region here purely for transparency, so you know where your data physically sits if you choose to create an account.
Protecting your data — and what you can do too
We take reasonable precautions to protect whatever data you do share with us — hashed passwords, per-household access isolation, encrypted connections, and a policy of never selling data or using it to train AI models (see the Privacy Policy for specifics). That said, no online service can promise perfect security. If there’s any personally identifiable detail — a real name, an exact figure, a specific account number — you’re not fully comfortable sharing, we’d genuinely rather you leave it out or use SwayamDhan’s anonymous, local-only mode instead, where nothing ever leaves your browser at all.
Grievance officer
Published in line with India’s IT Rules, 2021 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023:

This is currently a solo-founder project, so the grievance contact above is published by role rather than by a personal name, to keep individual contact details off the public site. We aim to acknowledge grievances within 7 days and resolve them within 30 days.
